Parenthood and Summer Nocturne

Two short poems by Donal Mahoney

Parenthood

Bluejay pounds a black
sunflower seed against a branch.
Tiny beaks to fill.

Summer Nocturne

Beneath a full moon
this silent symphony
fireflies in the night
